In 2018, the Mariñas-Betanzos Association initiated the procedures to manage the “A Coruña and As Mariñas” Geodestination, which largely coincides with the territory of the Mariñas Coruñesas Biosphere Reserve.

The management of this Geodestination is allowing for the unification of the tourism message and the promotion of joint strategies among municipalities, associated with a tourism product.

Since July 2019, the Mariñas-Betanzos Association has been the managing entity of the A Coruña and As Mariñas Geodestination, which was officially established through an agreement with the Galician Government (Galicia Tourism Agency) for carrying out activities and actions for tourism promotion and information in this geodestination.

These actions included training for tourism companies for their adherence to the Ecotourism Club in Spain, as well as other activities for promotion, network creation, sector support, and offer organization.
