TERRACTIVA is an operational group that sought to improve technical capabilities and generate resources to optimize support for new participants in the process of joining the agricultural sector.
According to the European Commission, Spain needs to redouble its efforts to reduce obstacles in the agricultural sector. The results of this project are directly useful for entities and professionals who accompany new participants, as facilitators and advisors during the installation process (agricultural cooperatives, rural development groups, employment technicians, regional agricultural offices, etc.).
Specifically, guidelines and an inventory of legal, financial, and technical resources were developed to guide people joining the agricultural sector in accessing land, including a GIS web platform with functionalities to search for available land and facilitate local intermediation.
Additionally, standard incorporation pathways will be defined, with an action guide and an inventory of available resources so that support entities can comprehensively accompany newly incorporated individuals.
The project will focus on agroecological models of horticulture and artisanal poultry farming, productions with high growth potential in Galicia, thus contributing to their sustainability and diversification, within the framework of the “Farm to Fork” strategy and the future CAP Strategic Plan.
