The Mariñas Coruñesas Biosphere Reserve is a territorial entity under the UNESCO and among its main objectives is the conservation of nature, harmonizing it with the socioeconomic development of the territory in a sustainable manner.
UNESCO, through its “Man and the Biosphere” program, considers humans as an integral part of nature and a key territorial agent for its conservation and sustainable development, unlike other conservation designations.
From the Reserve, we develop projects that seek biodiversity conservation, habitat restoration, and improvement of water and soil quality through more sustainable crops and practices, among many other themes, through both local and European initiatives, in collaboration with local communities and territorial institutions, and always aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
