Youth

Young people are key to the present and future of the Mariñas Coruñesas Biosphere Reserve. Their active participation is essential to promoting a more sustainable and dynamic territory that is committed to conserving its natural and cultural heritage, fostering local development and improving the quality of life of the people who live there.

Ensuring generational renewal means providing young people with genuine opportunities to participate in decision-making, contribute new ideas and play a leading role in shaping the future of the territory. For this reason, the Reserve is committed to strengthening youth participation and creating spaces for dialogue, collaboration and representation where young people’s voices are heard and taken into account.

As part of this commitment, the Mariñas Coruñesas Biosphere Reserve is launching a selection process for its Youth Representative. This initiative aims to give young people from the territory a voice and facilitate their participation in the youth networks of UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MaB) Programme and the Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves.

The representative will be selected through an open, public and transparent process based on the principles of equality, merit, ability and objectivity. The aim is to select a young person who can represent local youth, communicate their ideas and proposals, and contribute to building an increasingly participatory, inclusive Biosphere Reserve that is committed to the future.
